Five ways to Increase your Homes Value!

Owning real estate can be a great way to build equity over the long-term. While home values have historically appreciated in value over time, those who are looking to sell their homes may want to find ways to increase the value of their home before selling. Here are five ways in particular that you can increase the value of your home.

The first way to increase the value is to complete unfinished products. If you have some projects around the house that you have started, it would be wise to complete them. Otherwise the home can appear cluttered and unfinished.

Another simple way to improve the value of your home is to improve your landscaping. Planting new trees, shrubs, and bushes will help to improve the curb appeal of your home, which will attract more buyers and improve its value.

Updating your kitchen and bathrooms is the best way to improve the value of your home. While these improvements can be expensive, they often have a positive return on investment and will lead to a quicker sale. If replacing appliances, cabinets, and countertops is not in your budget, consider replacing dated fixtures and adding a simple backsplash to make the area shine.

If you have room for expansion on your lot, completing an addition could add a lot of value. Other options would be to build-out your basement or attic space, which will add to the usable square footage and help increase the value of your home

Finally, hire a home staging company prior to listing it for sale. Or ask me to go thru and show you the best way to stage  or reorganize your current belongings if you are going to be living in the home during the sale. The goal of home staging is to help make your home look bigger, more organized, and more stylish.
